Next up in products I can’t live without

Friday is Pizza Night at our house. With four growing children, that means we need more than one pizza stone .
We ‘ve tried a few unlike ones, but they always burned our pizza. Who wants burnt pizza when my very old, well-seasoned Pampered Chef pizza stone makes perfect crust every single clock time ?
finally, my husband had enough. “ Get another stone like your erstwhile one. ”

pizzamaking pizza
This old one – that ‘s my # 3 boy making homemade pizza .
Pampered Chef tells you that, when it comes to unglazed stoneware, “ the dark it gets, the better it works. ”
As you can see, mine is identical dark. If I recall, I bought it sometime in the deep 1990s. That means I can honestly tell my children that the pizza stone is older – much older – than they are .
Of course, when I decided to replace it ( and become a adviser so I can start selling it ), I assumed that I ‘d have to spend several years until it was as beautifully non-stick as my original .
not sol, but far otherwise, declared my acquaintance Erika. ( Okay, she did n’t truly say that – it comes from Just So Stories. But she did say the ‘ no ‘ contribution )
A batch has changed in twenty years – they ‘re nowadays non-stick, dishwasher-safe AND now come with handles and a lip on one english !
so … they took one of my favourite pieces of cooking utensil, my rock that has been carefully wrapped and moved respective times over the past two decades, flush transported on my lave, wrapped in a towel, on one be active … and they made it better ?

Is It Only for Pizza?

No, not at wholly ! We eat a lot of homemade pizza at our family, so that ‘s what we largely use them for. And it ‘s great for freeze pizza, excessively .
however, you can make boodle – either free-form craftsman loaves, biscuits, cinnamon rolls … I ‘ve used it to make hamburger buns and they were incredible .

But Is There a Warranty?

Pampered Chef offers a 3-year guarantee on their stones, assuming you ‘re using it in the normal manner .
It is very probable that your stone will final much longer than that .

“ Pampered Chef ‘s unglazed stoneware is made with their newfangled StoneFusion material making it their strongest and most durable stoneware however. ”
What does that think of in regular lecture ? It means you can pre-heat, broil, and even put this stone in the dishwasher .
Okay, you will credibly never want to put your stone in the dishwasher ( not once in two decades have I felt that need ), but if you do want to, you CAN .
And you do n’t have to panic if the children, your spouse, or an over avid firm guest washes it with soap .
“ Each man features a ribbon pattern, so you can well distinguish from your original unglazed stones ” – what THAT means is that I ‘m not going to incidentally mix up my identical previous, darkened with age but sadly not soap-loving stone with the modern dishwasher safe one .

I had forgotten what my master Pampered Chef Pizza Stone looked like until I got my raw one ! What a remainder. The iniquity stain is a good matter since it means about twenty years of seasoning. finally my modern stone ( well, stones … I bought two more ) will look like that, excessively .
Like all their stones, you can use it to make your favored broil goods, fixed foods, or reheated leftovers that are equitable equally well or better than day one. And it only gets better with age. A nonstick season will develop as you use it—the black it looks, the better it cooks !
I love this pizza stone so much that I decided to start selling Pampered Chef. ( I love all of their products but the stone is my favorite. )

Using a Pampered Chef Stone

Congratulations ! You ‘ve bought your first piece of Pampered Chef Stoneware and …. you ‘re terrified of using it wrong. Let ‘s put those worries to rest because these are amazing .
It is so very heat-safe ! The stone is heat-safe to 550°F ( 287°C ) – this means you can use it in the oven, microwave ( okay, possibly not the bombastic pizza stone, unless you have a identical big microwave ), dishwasher, freezer, and under the broiler .
You can not use it on the grill. ( We have other cooking utensil for that )
Plus, it can go from the electric refrigerator to a preheated oven. It can handle cold – > hot. Do not put a hot stone into the deep-freeze or on a cold coat, though .
Do n’t drop it. Just like glassware and the like, stoneware IS breakable .

Seasoning a Pampered Chef Stone

Look up at my dark brown stone. That ‘s what it looks like after years of seasoning. Yours will look like that, besides, finally, with a beautiful non-stick open .
impatient to get that dark, non-stick seasoning ? Just bake higher-fat foods ( like biscuits, even the refrigerated kind ) the first base few times, or lightly brush with cook oil .
Do n’t use an aerosol cooking spray, though !

Cooking with a PC Stone

just use the temperature and broil time in your recipe. There are no special adaptations you need to make .
If the recipe time is under 12 minutes, you may need to add 1-2 minutes .
There are some tips for using it effectively, though .

  • Evenly distribute food across as much of the surface as possible, at least two-thirds full.
  • You can preheat your stone up to 500°F (260°C) for up to 30 minutes. This will shorten the cooking time, so check 5-10 minutes sooner.
  • Making frozen pizza? Preheating is NOT necessary. Add the frozen pizza to the stone and put it in the oven. (On the other hand, if your stone is already hot because you’ve removed a pizza, you can add another immediately and put it back in the oven.

How to Clean a Pampered Chef Pizza Stone (or other stones!)

  • Use the included pan scraper to remove any debris from your stone. As the seasoning builds up, this will became needed less often.
  • Let the stone cool completely before placing in the dishwasher.
  • Want to build up that seasoning as quickly as possible? Handwash your stone – after it is cool, of course – with warm water. You don’t need to use any soap.

Safe Use Instructions

No one wants to get hurt. Nor do you want your beautiful stone to shatter into pieces. here are some authoritative things to keep in mind .

  • Hot stoneware is … well, it’s hot! If you touch it directly, it will burn your skin. Don’t do that!
  • Always use heat-resistant oven mitts or pads.
  • Stoneware can break if bumped or dropped. If this occurs, use caution as broken pieces can be sharp and could cause injury. Do not use chipped or damaged stoneware.
  • Stoneware should not touch the sides of the oven or the oven door when closed.
  • At least two-thirds of the surface should be covered with food to avoid thermal shock. Evenly distribute food over the stone and avoid clustering.
  • Avoid extreme temperature changes. Let stoneware cool to room temperature before adding liquid or cleaning. If placing frozen foods directly onto a preheated stone, evenly spread across the entire stone to minimize potential breakage.
  • Always place stoneware on hot pads or trivets to avoid damage to countertops and tables. Do not place directly on a cool surface.
  • Stoneware may scratch surfaces; place a protective barrier between the stoneware and the surface.
  • No grill, remember! Pampered Chef stones are not grill-safe.

Easy Cleanup!

  • Wash before first use; dishwasher-safe. Allow the stone to fully cool before dishwashing.
  • To deep clean: Prepare a baking soda paste by mixing ½ cup (125 mL) of baking soda with 3 Tablespoons (45 mL) water. Apply to the dirty spot and let stand for 15–20 minutes. Use a nonabrasive sponge or cloth to wipe off the excess paste, rinse completely, and towel dry.

  • Stoneware will naturally season and develop a nonstick surface over time with use. Dishwashing will lengthen the amount of time to develop seasoning.
  • Slight sticking may occur for the first several uses. For the best results, bake high-fat foods (e.g., refrigerated biscuits) or lightly brush with cooking oil for the first several uses. Aerosol nonstick spray is not recommended; it will create a sticky residue which is difficult to clean.
  • Stoneware can be used in conventional and convection ovens, microwave, refrigerator, and is freezer-safe.
  • Always thaw dense foods like frozen chicken breasts, pot pies, roasts or chops in the refrigerator prior to cooking on your stone.
  • Stones are heat-safe and broiler-safe up to 550°F (287°C). Food must be 5 inches (13 cm) away from the heat source.
  • Stones can be preheated with no food on them up to 500°F (260°C) for up to 30 minutes.
